Forget the smiling dude, I don’t even know who he is. 

Look at the MPESA screenshot attached.

As I was searching online about Global Internet Fortunes, this picture came up.

At some point, someone with this same script has approached you online with an intention to introduce you to some ‘online opportunity.’

They might have even promised some wild numbers like you can make 10k-30k per week ‘with just your phone,’ they say…

Does that sound familiar?

Well, if it does, you have met Global Internet Fortunes (or commonly known as GIF) agents.

Just a side note, I will be using both names interchangeably, so don’t get confused.

If you are confused on what this company does and whether their wild claims hold any water, you’ve come to the right place.

I will take you through everything you need to know about Global Internet Fortunes.

What is Global Internet Fortunes?

GIF is actually an IT company in Kenya that deals with web design, web hosting, and online marketing services.

Though they market themselves as an online marketing company.

They go by very many names and have evolved to be what you know today.

From; 

• My Fortune Builder
• Internet Marketing Africa
• Social Biz Connect

And now Global Internet Fortunes.

The name might have changed, but the script is the same!

If you own a blog, you know where web hosting comes in. See, when you start a website, you need to register a website name (domain name) and get hosting.

Hosting is where the website files will live.

Remember, that blog of yours will have files such a articles, images, and maybe videos.

All of these files need a place to ‘live’ online. And that’s where web hosting comes in.

But where does GIF fit in all these?

Well, web hosting is not something you can buy from your local supermarket. 

There are companies that specialize in offering these kind of services. They register the domain name and give you hosting space.

In return, you pay a subscription, either per month or per year. 

The cost isn’t really that much, something like Ksh 2500 per year.

Now, Global Internet Fortunes is one of such companies.

You go to them to register a website name and host it for you.

When you land on their website, you will see what I am talking about.

You can use this section to find a domain name.

Don’t worry, I will show you later how to do exactly that.

In fact, according to information on their website, they registered over 20K website names.

Are they registered to sell domains in Kenya?

Before I answer that, you need to know that selling and registering domain names in Kenya is a regulated business.

This means that you need to obtain a trade license from KeNIC, which the governing body of .KE domains in Kenya.

If you browse through KeNIC’s list of certified registrars, you will find Global Internet Fortunes in there.

This goes to prove that they are licensed to sell and register .KE domains.

FYI, .KE domain is the Kenyan version of .COM.

See, each country has its on specially reserved domain name extension. Kenya has .KE, Uganda has .UG, you get the gist?

I won’t go into details about this here because it is beyond the scope of this guide.

Where does GIF and network marketing meet?

Well, this is where it gets hot!

Before we go further, I have to explain what network marketing is.

Also known as multi-level marketing (MLM), network marketing is a business model.

It heavily relies on person-to-person sales by independent representatives.

Often, these reps can also recruit and train others.

So its simple.

You start a company and run it using MLM business model. Here, you recruit sales agents to push your products.

These agents are free to recruit others to sell the same products.

And when they do that, they earn not only from their direct sales efforts, but also from those they recruited.

Makes sense?

What does this have to do with GIF?

Well, to push their online marketing services (think domains, web hosting, web design), Global Internet Fortunes has adopted this network marketing business model.

This means that besides selling you the marketing services, you can ‘upgrade’ to be a GIF agent and earn money from everyone you refer to buy the company products.

GIF Pay plan explained

Let’s get into the details.

As I mentioned earlier, an MLM goes on levels. This informs how far you can after that refer that one person.

GIF’s levels can go up to the level 7.

Here’s a simple I created to explain it.

I’ll try to keep a level head while explaining this to you because it can get confusing really quickly.

According to their website, there’s a GIF Pay plan. 

This is essentially how you make money as an agent, and how much while at it, both directly from your sales efforts and the efforts of your those under you (other agents you recruited).

For clarity, here are some terms you need to know what they mean:

• Customer Referral Bonus (CRB) – this is exactly what it sounds, a bonus you get when you refer someone to be a GIF agent. They will be working under you. And the amount can either be lumpsum or a percentage of the plan they signed up into.
• Matching bonus – this is the amount you earn from those signed bu agents working under you. You actually start earning matching bonus from the second level and it stops at the seventh level.

Let me use an example.

You refer person B to be a GIF agent. You pocket $10 for this.

When person B recruits person C, you get Ksh 500 from that, are you getting the idea?

So now, person B works under you, and person C works under person B.

When both person B and C make a sale or recruits, you get a cut from that.

And this continues up to level 7, where you only earn Ksh 200. Nothing after this level.

So why the team size of 5?

Well, its just a marketing play GIF is using to make the numbers look tantalizing.

When you join, they ask you to refer only 5 people to make the team!

And you become a team leader.

If you do that, it means you are making Ksh 1000 per referral, hence Ksh 5K bonus.

It doesn’t stop here.

You are told to encourage your new recruits (team members) to refer someone each. This new blood now makes the second level.

And remember, you are pocketing Ksh 500 per every person they sign up. That means you are making 500 x 25 = Ksh 12,500.

When you add that to your initial 5k, you get 17,500!

That’s how they do the math.

GIF renewal bonuses explained

If you think the money stops there, boy! You are wrong!

According to their website, you earn renewal bonuses from your team and those under them.

The monthly renewal bonus is the amount you make in percentage when your team renews their accounts.

Turns out, the account expires every month, counted from the day you activated it.

Let’s look at the table below:

It shows the amount of money you stand to make from each renewal per level.

Let me give you an example:

For the 5 people you recruited earlier when each of them renews their GIF account, you get a Ksh 100 bonus per renewal. 

That means Ksh 500.

Use your imagination here, the number can be higher depending on the size of your team.

GIF airtime commission explained

Turns out, besides online marketing services, Global Internet Fortunes also sells airtime.

Inside the platform, you can recharge your Safaricom, Airtel, or Telkom phones with airtime and earn commission.

Better part?

You not only earn a commission when you buy it for yourself, but also when anyone in your team buys through the GIF platform.

How much?

I think it is self-explanatory.

It follows the same model as the other bonuses. 

For example, you earn a 2% commission when any of the initial 5 people you referred purchases airtime.

From level 2 downward, you rake 0.5%.

How to become GIF agent

One of the most burning questions people ask is, how do I join Global Internet Fortunes?

Joining GIF is by invitation only.

That means, if you have interest in becoming Global Internet Fortunes agent, you need someone from the inside to get you.

For the same of this tutorial, I will assume you already have someone who is already an agent.

To join Global Internet Fortunes, go to https://globalinternetfortunes.com/ either on your mobile phone or PC.

This is what you will see:

Click on the Join button (top right corner).

Instead of logging in, click on Create Account. 

Next, type the username of your inviter. This is someone who is already a GIF agent. Ask them to give you their username.

Immediately you enter the username, you will see a confirmation window with the details of the inviter.

These include their names, phone number, and email address.

Click continue with registration.

Next, you will be asked to fill out a registration form.

In the end, you are asked to tick a punch of boxes.

Once done, click register.

You will be asked to check your email for further instructions.

So make sure you are using a valid email address.

Upon checking your inbox and you don’t see any email from Global Internet Fortunes, open your Spam folder.

That’s where I found mine😂.

That’s it about Global Internet Fortunes registration.

The email talks about upgrading your account. They ask you to talk to your inviter on how to do that.

Global Internet Fortunes Login

Now that you’ve registered, you need to login.

To log into your Global Internet Fortunes account, go to https://globalinternetfortunes.com/ and click on the login button.

Provide your username and password.

And then click LOGIN.

What if I have forgotten my password?

Well, to recover your Global Internet Fortunes password, click on the ‘I forgot my password’ button on the login page.

Next, provide either your username or email to reset.

You will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your GIF password.

Everything is self-explanatory.

How to upgrade your Global Internet Fortunes account

The only way to make money as a GIF agent is to upgrade your account.

Upgrading here means you are getting a domain name, web hosting account, and web design training among other perks.

But before you upgrade, you must deposit some funds.

So, let me show you how to deposit funds into your GIF account.

First, you must be logged in.

Next, click on the add/deposit funds button.

Choose a deposit method.

Global Internet Fortunes support the following deposit methods:

Kenya:

• MPESA

Uganda

• MTN
• Airtel
• Mastercard

International gateways:

• PayPal
• VISA
• iPay
• Bitcoin

So, choose your preferred method

Enter the deposit amount in dollars and click proceed to payment.

Confirm the details are correct:

Then click proceed.

Next, complete the deposit process.

From here, follow the instructions to deposit funds to your GIF wallet.

Once the funds are reflected in your account, you can proceed to upgrade.

Click the upgrade button.

Next, do a domain name search.

Remember, upgrading is essentially buying a domain name and hosting.

The system will prefill all of your details, including first and last name, email address and phone number.

Including the place where you attended GIF training.

If everything checks out, click proceed.

Money will be deducted from your GIF wallet.

As you can see, I don’t have any.

But it is interesting to see that GIF sells you hosting for $49 and a .co.ke domain at $15, which brings the total to $64.

I don’t know If I am missing something but on their website, they claim to give you a ‘custom website’ at a price of Ksh 4900.

How to buy airtime on Global Internet Fortunes

As mentioned earlier, GIF sells airtime.

To make a purchase, log into your account and click on the Airtime button on your dashboard.

Next, enter the amount and enter the phone number you want to recharge.

Preview the details and follow the instructions to complete the airtime recharge.

How to withdraw money from Global Internet Fortunes

So you’ve joined and maybe made some money, how do you withdraw?

To withdraw money from Global Internet Fortunes, log into your account. And inside your dashboard, click on the Withdaw button.

If this is your first time doing this, you will get a message like one below.

Don’t worry, just click the Complete Setup button to proceed.

Next, you will be asked to fill out a simple form.

Provide your national ID or password number, pick a withdrawal gateway, and enter your phone or account details.

Once done, click Save Withdraw Setting.

In Kenya, GIF only supports MPESA as a withdrawal method. 

This means that you need a Safaricom simcard with a working MPESA service.

Also, if you want to change something about your withdrawal details, you will have to talk to an admin.

What do GIF sell?

So far, we’ve touched on a number of services they sell. I’ll just go over them real quick.

a). Domain names

You need a domain name to have a website online. And to own one, you must pay an initial registration fee and then there’s a renewal. 

So you know, you can’t actually own a domain name forever. 

At some point, you will need to pay a renewal fee. 

And if don’t, it goes back to the market.

GIF does this.

As you can see, if you want a .com domain, you’ll have to pay Kshs 2000.

How do you register a domain name on Global Internet Fortunes?

That’s a good question.

Before you start the registration process, you should have an idea of the actual name you want to use for your website.

It can be your names, your business, or anything really!

Once you do, go to https://globalinternetfortunes.com/domains/ and type that name into the provided box and click search domain.

GIF will tell you whether that name is available or taken (which means someone has already registered it).

From here, follow instructions to register your website name.

b). Web hosting

Another Global Internet Fortunes product is web hosting.

I have already explained to you what this is.

In a nutshell, it is where your website lives online.

And just like the domain name, you need money to get hosting.

The cheapest web hosting plan on GIF is Kshs 3000 per year. This plan gives you 30GB of storage and comes with a free SSL certificate.

To order a plan, head over to https://globalinternetfortunes.com/shared-hosting/ and pick the right plan according to your needs.

For example, if you just starting, you don’t need the Ksh 12K hosting plan. Go with what your budget can allow.

What’s weird is that you can’t actually buy any of these two services if you haven’t ‘upgraded’ your GIF account.

I have tried clicking on the Order Now button but nothing is happening. Unless something is broken, my conclusion is, you need to be an agent to order.

But why?

Well, I think I know a reason.

Remember when I told you that GIF is selling you hosting for $45?

c). Web design services

Another product GIF sells is web design services.

The charge from as low as Ksh 25,00 for a simple business website to Kshs 49K for an eCommerce website.

Tell me something, is it weird that all of the sites they listed a samples of what they’ve done, none of them works?

Yes, when you try to open any of the sites, nothing goes through.

It is even baffling to know that one of the domain names, gifschool.co.ke is back on the market😂😂.

d). Airtime

As you bonder on that, another GIF product is airtime.

I have already show you how to recharge your simcard with airtime on GIF.

e). GIF shop

Yes, Global Internet Fortunes has an online shop, access it through the member dashboard.

Click the Gift Shop menu.

The shop stocks a variety of products, most adorning GIF branding.

From books going for Ksh 400 to t-shirts going for Ksh 500.

It’s interesting to see that the payment of these products will be deducted from your GIF wallet.

How to make money with Global Internet Fortunes

There are essentially three ways to make money with GIF. 

1). Sign up as an agent

As a GIF agent, you are entitled to make a commission from any customers you refer to buy the company products.

The commission you earn here is different from the bonuses from your team.

This means that, even without recruiting other agents, you can still make money as some sort of an affiliate.

For example, you can pocket a 10K commission when you refer a client who ends up buying the eCommerce package priced at 49K.

b). Through your team

Another revenue stream at GIF is through building a network marketing team.

I have already covered what this looks like and how much you stand to make per recruit.

c). Through airtime commission

You make a commission every time you or anyone one in your team purchases airtime through GIF platform.

Though the commission isn’t anything to smile about, it’s still something.
